Sunday School

First Baptist Church is dedicated to the spiritual growth through the teaching of God’s Word.  Every department will lay a solid foundation for those who want to live a faithful Christian life.  Our caring and talented teachers will inspire you and your family to grow in the Lord and become more like Christ in your daily walk. 

Sunday School class begin at 9:30am as guests and members gather for a time of corporate Bible study and fellowship.  

If you are a first time visitor, please stop by our Welcome Center on Sunday morning. We would love to help find a class that would be a good fit. Adult 1, Room 204

We are a group of young families, local and military, married without kids, married with a few kids and married with a bunch of kids! Our ages range from 25-45, but any and all adults are welcome! Contact Dan & Emily Crane for more information about visiting this class. 

Adult 2, Room 217

Our “HOPE” Sunday School class is very diversified and yet it works! The ages vary, but most are in their 40s and 50s. There are couples, singles, and those whose spouses do not attend church. They are a fun and friendly class that enjoy having a good time with one another. They are intentional with prayer, Bible study, and discussions in the class. Adult 4, Education Building

The Adult 4 class consists of members anywhere from their mid 60’s to early 80’s. They average about 11-18 members on a Sunday morning. They welcome visitors to come and discuss the Bible as it relates to the lesson that week! Contact the Bailey's for more information about visiting this class. 

Adult 5,  Room 113

Adult 5 is a Sunday school class for adult ages 67+. They begin at 9:30am by singing traditional hymns followed by announcements and prayer requests. There are several classes within the Adult 5 department. Classes for women, men, and married couples. Contact Charles Martin for more information about visiting the class. 

Discovery 2, The Towers Building (101 E Commerce)

Discovery 3, Room 150

This small group class combines teaching and discussion to apply Biblical principles to real life issues. It is made up of business and professional people who have a great time of fellowship together while growing in their faith. Contact Charles Jeffries for more information about visiting this class.

Discovery 4, Room 202 

Discovery 4 is a small class consisting of married couples and single members ranging in ages from their 40's to the 70’s. The class is intentional about giving members a chance to teach if they desire to do so. Contact Lynn Roland for more information about visiting this class.

Forever Grace, Room 250

Forever Grace is a women’s class of all ages because they believe older women should teach, reach, and nurture the younger women. As well as, learn from them. They welcome any woman who is needing to be loved, encouraged, prayed for or is seeking to draw closer to the Lord and know Him. Contact Carol Kendrix for more information about visiting this class.

Daughters of the King, Room 203

Daughters of the King is a group of women, ages 20 to 60 who gather together each week to study the Word of God. Our Bible-based lesson encourages discussion in class, while working to apply what is learned in daily life. Our goal is to love and care for each other like family. Lighthouse, Corner of Grady & Commerce

The Lighthouse class consists of a melting pot of people mostly 35 and up. The Sunday school hour consists of worship, teaching, and prayer. The class is very prayer oriented and missions focused.
