April Overview:
This month the children will be doing Easter activities, learning about animals, and about Mexico.
Listed below are some of the activities we have planned. Please let us know ahead of time if your child has any allergies or fear of animals.
Thursday, April 12th, - Kevin Law and his herding dogs will be here to do some demonstrations for us.
Monday, April 16th, - Larry Whetstone director of the Altus Dog Rescue will come and visit with the children about what they do and how to take care of pets responsibly. We would like to make this a mission project for the children. If you are able and would like to contribute, we will be collecting dry dog food, (any brand except Old Roy), sm. & med. sized collars & leashes, chewy bones & towels to donate to this cause.
Thursday, April 19th, Ms. Kayla will bring in her pet cockatiel “Charlie” to share with the children.
Monday, April 23rd, Mindy Smiley will be bringing her Savannah cat “Carl” to share with the children. (A Savannah is the name given to the offspring of a domestic cat and a Serval — a medium-sized, large-eared wild African cat).
Thursday, April 26th, we will have a Mexico day to finish out our Mexico theme for this month.
Monday, April 30th, Altus Pet Store Field Trip. (Ms. Delfina & Ms. Kayla’s class only).
REMINDER: No school Monday, April 8th, due to Easter break.
