Girls in Action (GA'S)

What Is Girls in Action (GA’s)?
GA is a comprehensive mission’s education program, for girls in grades 1-6, which includes praying for missions, engaging in mission’s action and witness, learning about missions, developing spiritually toward a missions lifestyle, participating in the work of the church and denomination, and supporting missions.

Through participation in GA, girls grow in their knowledge, understanding, and application of the Bible. They also learn from the example of missionaries, believers, and hands-on mission action what it means to actively engage in ministering to others with the compassion of Christ.

GA Motto: "Go Forward!"

GA Pledge: "As a GA, I will do my best to live a mission’s lifestyle that honors God by learning about missions, praying for missions, giving to missions, doing missions and participating in the work of the church."

GA Scripture Verse: "Give thanks to the Lord. Worship him. Tell the nations what he has done. Announce how honored he is" (Isaiah 12:4 NIrV).

GA Life style Verse: "The Lord has shown you what is good. He has told you what he requires of you. You must treat people fairly. You must love others faithfully. And you must be very careful to live the way your God wants you to" (Micah 6:8 NIrV).

A Note From Ms. Stephanie

GA Parents/Guardians,

What a wonderful year we have had so far! I am already in love with your precious girls! They are so spirited and full of life! Our first GA mission project was a huge success! We asked the girls to bring in items for our Samaritans Purse boxes throughout the month of September! We planned to fill four boxes. Well, the girls brought so many items we were able to fill 8 boxes! Praise the Lord! We are so blessed to have such sweet little missionaries amongst us! Thanks so much for all your help!

We are going to be working on several things in the next few months. The first is Trunk-Or-Treat! If you don't know already, FBC Altus puts on Harvest Blessings on Halloween as a safe alternative for trick-or-treating. This event goes on at the Community Center on Falcon Rd. They provide a hot dog dinner and games on one side and Trunk-Or-Treat on the other. The GA's decorate a trunk and hand out candy. This year we have decided to decorate our trunk a little different. We are going to decorate with a GA theme. “Missions around the World.” I will have a sign-up sheet in the GA room the month of October for the girls to sign-up to hand out candy. This will be in shifts. I try to keep it in 10 min intervals. We have always enjoyed having the girls help hand out candy to the little ones. They love to see their costumes. I thank you in advance for sharing your girls with us during this mission project. This will be counted towards a service badge.

We are planning a Father/Daughter Day Camp the first part of November. We have done the weekend camp out in the past, and loved it! This year we wanted to try something a little different. This will hopefully allow more to attend and get involved. The dates, times, and place are still being discussed at this time, however be looking for detains soon!

You’re Leaders/Helpers and I are so excited for this 2013/2014 year! Your daughters are such a blessing in our lives and we are so glad you share them with us each week. They have such a heart for Jesus and missions. We enjoy leading them further toward Him!

Please note GA's has a face book page. I will be posting upcoming events and reminders as another way to stay informed.Like us at FBC Altus GA's to receive our updates.

Thank you so much for allowing us the privilege to guide your daughter’s hearts!

Blessings,

Ms. Stephanie
